Bio
Ron overcash - Bass and Vocals
Born in Baltimore and raised in North Carolina where I was influenced by the Blues and R & B being played by only one station within 500 miles, WLAC--Galatin, Tennessee(which was aired between 11:00 and 12:00 pm every nite). Over about 45 years, I have shared concert stages with acts such as "The Association"--"The Diamonds"--and Frankie Valle and the 4 Seasons; as well as, backing up such notables as "The Drifters"--"The Coasters"--and Aaron Neville.
I have been prodded by my friends to update my bio with all the stuff I did not acknowledge earlier, so here it is: While in North Carolina in the early 60s; I had the opportunity to be part of a couple of notable regional bands; one being "The Delmonicos"--the other "Nolan Moss & the Excels"(which won a statewide Battle of the Bands); while in the early 70s--a show band called "Pandemonium" which played cities from Miami Beach(garnering a Variety Magazine write-up as well as an ad in BillBoard Magazine) to Cape Cod hitting most major cities in between. A short hiatus and a band out of Milwaukee called "Nitelife" playing lots of R&B and funk primarily throughout the Midwest--this was about 1977-78----Then in Chicago a couple of local acts, one called "Private Stock"(which played the Chicagoland circuit as well as touring nationally)--and "Ron Overcash & Cash Money" playing show and dance clubs primarily in Chicago. I hope I haven't left anything out--if I have I will update and let you know.
I was in semi-retirement until 2002 when I wrote the songs on the CD "Alternative Blues"; and am now attempting to promote this music when and where ever I can.
